James Scully is an outgoing native New Yorker who grew up in a home with four generations of family. He had close relationships with both his grandparents and great-grandparents, being exposed to an invaluable amount of local culture. It has helped him become a passionate writer, director, and historian.

He’s a graduate of Xavier High School in Manhattan, Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, and has spent over a decade working in media for companies such as Condé Nast, and Hearst. These days he's a podcast developer, radio historian, New York City historian, and audio fiction developer.

Along with The Bay Ridge Digest Podcast, his past shows include Breaking Walls, the docu-podcast on the history of US network radio broadcasting, Burning Gotham, the audio fiction soap opera set in 1835 New York City, and others.

James is also a New York City sightseeing/tour guide with several historical tours around New York City, and he co-hosts Breaking The Audio Fiction Form at the Salmagundi Club.
